I need to get a new heater and reading that you should have 3-5 watts per gallon and to have 2 heaters instead of one big one. Any name brands you can plug 2 heaters into 1 controller? Found some from reef octopus but looks like each has the own controllers. Any feed back will be great.

I have always used EHEIM JAGER TRUTEMP AQUARIUM HEATERS - never had a problem.

300 watt is the biggest I can find. I need about 2 500 watt heaters for my size tank. Been reading up on heaters and find it says to get 3-5 watts per gallon and I have a 210 gallon tank.

Do you agree about getting 2? I keep seeing 3-5 watts per gallon of water so they don't run so hard. I have burned up 2-3 300 watt heaters in a small amount of time and it sucks. Luckily my wood stove is helping keep it steady fight now.

You could get 1 first and see if it is enough and then go from there. Are you running a controller?
