    Wave Maker vs Powerhead

I have seen a few people lately talk about wave makers, I am curious, what is the difference between a wave maker and a powerhead?

Usually, power heads are at a constant speed. Anything that has variable speeds or modes is considered a wave maker.

So then you would say a Korilia is a powerhead but a vortech is a wave maker?

That is correct. They do make controllable koralias. But I would never waste my money on them.
