I never knew how much stuff could live on a snail shell until I took this picture. I see pods, worms and possible a small tunicate.

I haven't posted any updates for a couple months. Some of my acros are still looking rough, but the issue does not appear to be spreading and some of them have improved. Hopefully I am on my way back. Shortening my peak lighting schedule to 6 hours seemed to help, but I still think it is a bacterial thing. I also realized that I had somehow set my WAV pumps to Mirror instead of Inverse. So instead of a back and forth motion, the flow was meeting in the center and swirling around. I think it had been that way for months and I just didn't notice. I also increased nutrients. My phosphate usually measured between 0 and .02 and my nitrate was somewhere between 5 and 10. I overshot the mark and my phosphate is at .15 - .20 and nitrate is between 25 and 40. Everything seems happier but I am still trying to slowly get the phosphate down to .05 and nitrate below 20. My fingers are crossed that I am finally out of this four month long mess. Here is my favia collection. They are my favorite SPS and definitely loving the increased nutrients.

Here is a mix of some other corals.

ARC Fireworks does not have the red polyps yet but it is slowly growing.

Bubblebath Unicorn is also still coloring up but starting to grow a little faster.

Here is an acan that was a one polyp frag from Jason Fox back in November.

This goni took forever to get happy in a high flow, high light tank, but it is doing pretty well now.

I finally gave up on trying to nurse my struggling acros back to health. I read some articles from when Sanjay had what he thought was a bacterial issue and he trashed any corals having issues and the problem resolved itself. So I trashed about 12 acro colonies today after already losing about 12 others over the last 5 months. No more Red Planet, BC Glowstik, Reef Ready Grape Juice, Tri Color, Rainbow Granulosa, Pink Panther, Pink Lemonade, Garf Bonsai, BC Pearly Cadaver, BC Sky Doppel, BC Dream Sequence. I still have healthy frags of about half of them, so hopefully they will survive. My WD is the only acro left that I would consider a colony. I am going to do weekly Revive and Lugols dips of all remaining acros (except the WD since it is too large). Hopefully this stops the issue. I guess the bright side is that I have room for acros again if I can keep them alive. Here are some fish pics since I don't typically kill them.

Good thing there is a frag swap coming up soon! Good luck with the dips, I hope you get things fixed up.

Sometimes that is the only thing you can do. I did the same thing about 18 months ago. I am sure the club members can get you most of what you lost.

Thanks! I may be looking for LPS at this swap. I want to see several months of no issues before I add any more acros.

Yeah, all of my issues before this were caused by something I did. Those coral recovered when I corrected the issue. This time I think it is just a bacterial infection and there was no way for me to fix it. I probably held on to struggling acros way to long and helped the infection spread.
