    uv sterilizer

    Is the benefit of having a UV sterilizer worth the price of one? How many run one?

    They are fairly popular if you are running a fish only system but those tend to be rare outside of commercial installations as far as I have been able to tell. If you have corals, etc, you generally don't want them as they kill off the food that those corals pull out of your water column, or at least that is the theory behind why you don't want to use them in a non fish only tank. I can't really speak to the true science behind that though but that is what I have heard.
